The Vision Resource Center (VRC) on Cedar Creek Road is celebrating Blindness Awareness Month this October by hosting its Community Yard Sale, an engaging and spirited outdoor event designed purely for community awareness and support.
The VRC invites the entire Cape Fear Region community to join the celebration on Friday, October 24th, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at the VRC grounds located at 2736 Cedar Creek Road.

An Event Focused on Mission and Community
This event is an opportunity to learn firsthand about the VRC’s vital mission: improving the lives of adults and children in the Cape Fear Region who are blind or visually impaired.
Attendees can look forward to a fun outdoor space with live music, picnic tables, and a chance to support both local entrepreneurs and VRC members by shopping from a variety of vendors and second-hand goods. Delicious fried fish and hot dogs, and italian ice will be available.
The goal for this yard sale is simple: to open our doors, welcome our neighbors, and shine a light on the incredible labor and resilience of the visually impaired community we serve.
Call for Community-Minded Vendors
The VRC is currently accepting applications for local vendors who wish to participate and support the awareness mission.
Participation Fee as Donation:
Vendors will be required to submit a registration form and pay a $20 USD fee per table. This fee will count as a direct donation to the VRC mission.
Keep Your Earnings:
Vendors will be able to keep 100% of their sales, ensuring their participation is an act of community support and encouragement to the VRC family.
