‘Braille trail’ creates first of its kind walking path for the blind
A new braille walking trail in Fayetteville — the first of its kind in the state — is part of an effort to create an independent exercise option for blind and visually impaired people. The trail, which opened last week at the Vision Resource Center on Cedar Creek Road, has features that allow blind people to navigate it safely and independently.

‘This money means survival’: Advocacy leads to funding shift for Cumberland nonprofit
The Vision Resource Center was originally recommended to receive $10,000 from Cumberland County’s community impact grant — just a fifth of what it had requested.
After public testimony and persistent advocacy from its director and supporters, the Vision Resource Center may receive a major boost in county funding.

Vision Resource Center hosts reading service for blind and visually impaired
Vision Resource Center has a 24/7 stream where those in the Fayetteville community can hear local news, obituaries and other happenings in the community. The fresh content comes on from noon to 2 p.m. From 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. audio books, podcasts and uplifting content can be heard.
