SOCIALIZATION
At the Vision Resource Center, social connection is essential. Our socialization programs bring members together through activities like bingo, bowling, crafts, walking trails, sensory gardens, wellness classes, and cultural outings. These opportunities foster friendships, reduce isolation, and create a supportive community for adults and youth who are blind or visually impaired.

WHAT WE OFFER
At the Vision Resource Center, our priority is to create programs and services that truly enrich the lives of our members, who we lovingly call our Family Members. We provide opportunities to connect, learn, and enjoy life to the fullest.
Here are just some of the ways we support blind and visually impaired adults in our community:
-
Health & Wellness: Exercise programs to build strength and endurance, cooking classes, and Healthy Living Lunch & Learn sessions.
-
Arts & Culture: Concerts, plays, musicals, parks, zoo visits, museums, seminars, and cultural outings.
-
Celebrations: Holiday and birthday gatherings.
-
Workshops & Learning: Independent living workshops, self-defense classes, Bible studies, and guest speaker sessions.
-
Creative Activities: Pottery, oil painting, and more hands-on arts.
-
Games & Recreation: Bingo, bowling, and Paralympic training demonstrations.
-
Community & Support: Monthly family meetings, support groups, and referrals for additional resources.
-
Special Events: Camps at Caraway and Dogwood, plus National Federation of the Blind (Fayetteville Chapter) meetings.
JOIN THE ACTIVITIES
All activities at the Vision Resource Center are open to our members.
To take part, members must sing up by calling our Program and Operations Coordinator at least 72 hours before the activity to sign up. This helps us confirm your spot and arrange transportation if needed.
Transportation is available for $5 round trip (free for Angel Members). If members plan to arrive on their own, they must let VRC know in advance.
