ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

Serving visually impaired and blind people of the Cape Fear region since 1939

The Vision Resource Center serves blind and visually impaired children and adults of Cumberland County through a variety of programs and services to enrich the lives of our members. 

At the Vision Resource Center we make it our priority to provide services and programs that enrich the lives of our members, or as we like to call them, our "Family Members". Below are just a few of the services provided to the blind and visually impaired in our community. 

  • Van transportation to and from the Center for daily and special activities

  • “Healthy Living” Program – includes yoga, chair exercises, walking, exercise machines etc.

  • Independent Living Classes

  • Arts and Crafts

  • Cultural Programming

  • Social Activities

  • Youth Programming and Summer Camp

  • Support Group Meetings with Guest Speakers

  • Referral Services

You Can Help

How can you help blind and visually impaired adults and children? Consider volunteering your time or making a gift in support of VRC.

Volunteer

We are fortunate to benefit from the extraordinary efforts of our volunteers and a dedicated board of directors. We welcome new volunteers who can help us from assistance with general Center activities, sharing their gifts and experience through special programs, presentations or grant writing.
